I bring to my work over a dozen years of experience in the career industry. I’ve worked as a recruiter, a career counselor at Ivy League schools, and as a “resume specialist” for Microsoft. I have a Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Virginia. I have completed certification training in career coaching, resume writing and recruiting.

I am a co-author of The Twitter Job Search Guide (JIST Publishing), winner of a Career Innovator Award from Career Directors International. I speak regularly at industry conferences and have been quoted by media outlets including the Associated Press, The Atlantic, CareerBuilder, CNN, the BBC, Fox News, and Public Radio International.  I am a freelance writer. My freelance pieces have been published by Forbes, eFinancialCareers, Job-Hunt.org, and The Wall Street Journal. From 2012 to 2015, I served as the Jobs Expert for Answers.com.
