Carney, Sandoe & Associates Business Intern, January–April 2012

Carney, Sandoe & Associates is offering a 10-12 week business internship to one qualified applicant, beginning January 2012.

CS&A is the leading teacher and administrator recruitment service in the country.  Since 1977, CS&A has placed thousands of teachers and administrators in K-12 schools. CS&A’s primary office is located in the Downtown Crossing section of Boston, Massachusetts.

The internship will be both demanding and instructive.  The hired intern will be asked to participate at every level of the organization, including placement, recruitment, technology, marketing, and operations.  Job responsibilities will be, at times, monotonous and clerical in nature (stuffing envelopes, making copies), and, at times, complex and intellectually challenging (investigating new business opportunities, hosting hiring conferences, researching new marketing strategy).  Because of the small nature of the firm, flexibility and the ability to work with a variety of people will be critical.

Interested applicants must demonstrate a passionate interest in both business and education.  Strong writing and organizational skills, as well as a meticulous attention to detail, will be essential.  Applicants must understand that this internship, unlike some others, will involve a significant degree of vigorous, committed work each day.  Therefore, for those candidates who are looking for “rotational” and/or “observational” internships, this would not be a good fit.  Finally, an enthusiastic sense of humor and an easy, infectious laugh will be critical.

A stipend in the amount of $4200 will be offered to the intern, paid on a bi-weekly basis.

Applicants must submit a resume and a cover letter expressing their interest in the position.
